A vibrant and winey Yirgacheffe Idid's natural

A vibrant and elegant coffee. Its clean profile, combined with juicy fruitiness reminiscent of passion fruit and green apple, and floral aromas, along with a complex, wine-like flavor and smooth mouthfeel, makes this a truly appealing cup.

Idido is a coffee-producing region located in the Yirgacheffe district of the Gedeo Zone in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region. Spread across high altitudes ranging from 1,900m to 2,450m, the cherries, collected from surrounding small-scale producers, are carefully processed at local washing stations.

When harvest season arrives, fully ripened cherries are hand-picked and transported to the washing station. Unripe and damaged cherries are carefully removed, and only the best quality cherries are used for the natural process.

The selected cherries are spread thinly on raised African beds and frequently stirred and sorted to prevent uneven drying. The drying process takes several weeks, allowing the cherries to reach the ideal moisture content.

Many of the producers are small-scale farmers with plots of land less than one hectare. While cherishing traditional farming methods, they continue to cultivate their coffee by interplanting shade trees and ensete (false banana), which is their staple food, alongside their coffee, making the most of nature's bounty.

Yirgacheffe is considered one of the birthplaces of coffee and is world-renowned as a leading producer of washed coffee. It mainly comprises the Gedeo Zone, but also includes some coffee-producing areas in the neighboring Oromia State to the west, with altitudes ranging from approximately 1700m to 2440m.

The people living in this area are primarily the Gedeo people, but also include the Oromo and Amhara tribes. The washing station is said to have been introduced here in the 1970s, and the region has long been known as a producer of high-quality coffee representative of Ethiopia. The mountainous terrain with abundant water resources also contributes to the quality of the coffee from this area.
