GLITCH COFFEE & ROASTERSJimbocho, Tokyo

Suzuki KiyokazuKiyokazu Suzuki

In his 20s, while worrying about his future dreams, he encountered specialty coffee and entered the world of coffee. He became fully involved in roasting under Paul Bazett, a world barista champion from Australia, and opened ``GLITCH COFFEE & ROASTERS'' in Jimbocho in 2015. We continue to focus on single origin and light roast, and the fruity coffee that can only be tasted here attracts many coffee lovers and continues to propose new coffee tastes. There are three stores in Jimbocho, Akasaka, and Nagoya.

"Even coffee connoisseurs will be amazed by the sweet and sour taste, similar to red wine."

The Colombian (yellow Bourbon ) that I have roasted at CROWD ROASTER up until now has had a slight basil-like flavor, but the beans I have roasted this time are completely different.

Recently, selection methods such as anaerobic, double anaerobic, and gold washed are popular, but for Glitch's taste, it is important to bring out those characters. The beans are slightly large, well selected, and of very good quality.

This time, we would like to highlight the difference in our selection method. The roast is light. As for the flavor, you can feel the berry flavor unique to Anaerobic Natural, red wine, red fruit, etc.

The Yellow Bourbon had a fairly strong character, but I think people will either love or hate these beans. I hope that people who like Ethiopian naturals or berry flavors will enjoy the unique flavor.

In particular, I think the difference from the coffee we usually drink is quite large. People who are used to dark roasted coffee will be surprised, of course, but even those who like light roasted coffee will be surprised. Rather than the bitterness and richness that is typical of coffee, it really tastes more like wine.

Among the beans from El Salvador that Glitch handled in 2021, we also handled Geisha , and I personally think they are very good beans.

When you actually brew the coffee, the first thing you notice is the aroma of berries, such as red wine, blackberries, and grapes. When you take a sip of it, you get the impression of a slightly sweet yet sour taste, like apricot or red apple. As the coffee cools, the aftertaste becomes sweeter.

When brewing your own tea, it might be a good idea to pay attention to the shape of the cup. I think you'll be able to appreciate the flavor more clearly if you use a black teacup rather than a deep mug. The aroma will be more pronounced, and the impression when it enters your mouth will be completely different. It will be easier to bring out the elegant berry flavor.

CROWD ROASTER exclusive El Salvador famous garden coffee

Farm Espana is one of the most famous farms in El Salvador. CROWD ROASTER is now exclusively able to introduce this farm's coffee, which has never been imported to Japan before. This farm produces high-quality coffee beans with meticulous work, while also working hard to protect the local environment.

Furthermore, this coffee is made through a selection process called anaerobic natural.
This new selection method has been thoroughly researched, resulting in a coffee that brings out the berry flavors unique to this process, making it a coffee that can be enjoyed like wine.

You can enjoy a unique flavor that you have never experienced in coffee before.

Espana Farm introduced to Japan for the first time

The Apaneca district of Ahuachapan department, where the España farm is located, is one of the leading coffee producing areas in El Salvador, bordering Guatemala. The region has both soil and climate suitable for growing coffee, but it is also famous for its strong winds. For this reason, not only shade trees but also windbreak forests have been planted to protect the coffee trees from strong winds.

The Espana farm was founded in 1860 by Rodrigo Herrera (grandfather of the current owner, Nora Remas de Diaz Nuira). The farm covers 35 hectares, of which 28 hectares are planted mainly with Bourbon grapes, and Percas grapes in areas affected by strong winds.

The farm's altitude is between 1,200 and 1,475m, with a microclimate suitable for coffee production and semi-hilly terrain with fertile soil. At the farm, we pay close attention to cultivation methods, harvesting, and post-harvest management. We are also firmly committed to preserving the environment.

When you think of coffee from El Salvador, you might think of it as something easy to drink. However, this coffee is quite unique.

The anaerobic natural process produces flavors of berries and black cherry, and a lingering finish with apricot-like acidity and sweetness.

Anaerobic fermentation, which has become popular in recent years, can have a strong fermented smell and taste like kimchi if you make a mistake. This coffee, of course, does not have that smell at all, and thanks to the careful selection process, you can clearly taste the berry flavor that is unique to this process.

Although it is coffee, it can be enjoyed like wine, so we hope you will try it.

It's possible because it's CROWD ROASTER
A combination of top roasters and high quality raw beans.
A unique taste.
Please enjoy our special coffee.
