TAKAMURA COFFEE ROASTERS was started by a wine specialty store in order to provide "delicious coffee that enhances the afterglow of a meal." IWASAKI , the head roaster, is a skilled roaster who came second in the JCRC 2018, a competition that tests roasting techniques, and won the JACRC 2019, a competition to determine the best roasters for competitive beans, the following year. Just as wine merchants search for delicious grapes, he has made it his mission to find great coffee producers and work with them to promote delicious coffee. He searches for undiscovered producers in Japan and handles many nano-lots that he imports himself.

Kenya = sour? No, the future of Kenya is sweet!

We would like to introduce you to a coffee characterized by its strong sweetness from the Kirinyaga region of Kenya, a famous specialty coffee producing area.

Kenya is often characterized by its berry fruit flavor and sharp acidity. I think there are many people who don't like the sour taste of Kenyan food.

However, this Tim Factory coffee has a very distinctive sweetness similar to brown sugar. You can feel it even in a light roast, and although it has acidity, it doesn't feel sharp. It has a Kenyan berry flavor and a complex flavor.
Above all, it is a coffee with an amazing sweetness.

This is a brand that we would recommend to those who have avoided Kenya until now, or those who would like to try sweet coffee.

Top quality Kenya from a prestigious factory

Kirinyaga, located on the east side of Mount Kenya, is a famous coffee producing region along with Nyeri and Karatina. The 12 factories (selected facilities) run by the region's historic Baragui Agricultural Cooperative (founded in 1953) constantly share information and pay attention to maintaining quality.

Tim Factory, one of the 12 factories that produced this coffee, is where 3,500 producers in the surrounding area bring their coffee cherries. In the washed process, the cherries are sorted before pulping, and the fermentation to remove mucilage is done using dry fermentation without water, which is environmentally friendly. After washing, the cherries are dried in the sun on a dry table for 8 to 14 days.

This region is dotted with farmland at altitudes between 1,600 and 1,800 meters, and the fertile volcanic deposits produce coffee with a rich flavor. The varieties are SL28 , SL34, Batian, Ruiru 11 and Kenya's standard cultivars.

The grade of this coffee (green beans) is AA, the highest grade in Kenya, with a screen size of 17-18 (approximately 7mm) or above.

Thanks to the careful work of the producers and Tim Factory, we have created a coffee that has a rich sweetness, complex flavor, and mild acidity that can be felt at any roast level.

Please enjoy this coffee roasted by your favorite roaster, which has a completely different flavor from the common image of Kenya.
