cocoayellow peachorangeIt is refined at the Kangocho Factory, owned by the Gikanda Agricultural Cooperative Society in Nyeri County, Central Province.
The parent organization, the Gikanda Producers Association, was established in 1996 and owns three factories: Kangocho, Gichasaini, and Ndaroini. The association currently has over 3,000 members, of which just over one-third belong to the Kangocho Factory.
During the processing, the beans are dry fermented for 12 hours, then washed in a waterway and separated by density. They are then dried in African beds and sun-dried for 14 days.
Lot 13GF0002 was the second to be finished at Gicanda Farmers Mill, in the 13th week since October.
The association has obtained RA and FLO certifications and operates sustainably, but as the beans purchased this time were not certified, no certificates have been obtained.
