Winner of the roasting competition "1st crack coffee challenge"
Takuya Miura , who won the inaugural "1st Crack Coffee Challenge," a coffee roasting competition first hosted by Giesen Japan, opened " FUKUSUKE COFFEE ROASTERY " in Anjo, Aichi Prefecture.
Takuya Miura , who aspired to roast coffee after encountering specialty coffee, studied as a barista in Canada Manabu , and trained as a roaster at ROKUMEI COFFEE CO. in Nara before opening his own roastery in his hometown of Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture.
He is a highly skilled individual who won the inaugural "1st Crack Coffee Challenge," a coffee roasting competition first hosted by Giesen Japan in 2022.
In addition to producing high-quality specialty coffee, one of Miura 's goals is to contribute to the coffee industry in regions like Uganda and Myanmar, which are working to improve quality and grow.
We create special cups of coffee with the aim of revitalizing the local community through coffee, incorporating traditional crafts from our hometown of Anjo City into our store design, and bringing happiness to everyone involved with coffee—our customers, our families, and even the coffee bean producers.

The coffee roaster that Miura uses is the "DIEDRICH IR-2.5".
This roasting machine holds a special place in my heart, as I inherited it from Yasunari Sawanoi of " ABOUT US COFFEE " in Kyoto, with whom I studied coffee roasting.
It uses a semi-hot air, single drum, and infrared burner heating method, which makes it easy to produce clear, transparent-looking coffee.
The type of roasting that Miura aims for is sweet, smooth, and allows you to fully appreciate the flavor characteristics of the coffee.
By applying the appropriate amount of heat to the beans, inhibiting factors are eliminated, and sweetness, a pleasant mouthfeel, and distinctive flavor characteristics naturally develop.
As a prize for winning the "1st Crack Coffee Challenge," I visited a roastery in the Netherlands and was inspired by the high level of quality and the incredibly clean coffee I encountered. I continue my research every day with the goal of creating a "Japanese Roast" that can compete on a global level.
