9 roasters explain the roast event at San John Grande Farm in Brazil!

Roast events, a fun experience unique to CROWD ROASTER app, are currently in full swing.

If you participate in a roasting event, the same brand of coffee will be roasted by participating roasters, allowing you to compare the coffees and get a sense of each roaster's individuality.

In particular, CROWD ROASTER 's original lot, "SJBA Brazil São John Grande Farm Bourbon Anaerobic Natural" is currently recruiting participants for a total of 10 roasting events!

In this article, we will introduce different roast levels, so please take this opportunity to join your favorite roast event!

CROWD ROASTER limited lot! Rare Bourbon Anaerobic

Currently, "SJBA Brazil / São John Grande Farm / Bourbon / Anaerobic" has 10 roasting events being held by 9 roasters.
You can enjoy a variety of flavors from light roast to dark roast.

This brand, made from Bourbon from the Saint-Jean Grande Estate and finished with anaerobic extract, is a limited batch made exclusively for CROWD ROASTER . You won't be able to get it anywhere else!

This lot is a complex and distinctive coffee with a Brazilian aroma, a fruity acidity that is unusual for Brazil, and a slight fermented flavor that is characteristic of anaerobic coffee.

What about light roast events?

When lightly roasted, it has the bright nutty flavor typical of Brazil, but also the berry flavor unique to carefully selected coffee, giving it a sweet and sour impression.
There are three roasters who are currently running light roast events.

・ou.bai.tou.ri coffee roasters Machi Kodama
・Roast Design Coffee Mikami Hitomi
・ABOUT US COFFEE Yasunari Sawanoi

Kodama aims to create an "elegant Brazilian" roast, while Hitomi aims to roast with a focus on cleanliness.
Sawanoi has even set up a roasting event for this brand, where you can compare the light and dark roasts of Sawanoi 's coffee. This is something you can only enjoy at CROWD ROASTER .

What about a medium roast event?

Medium roast has a good balance of richness, sweetness, and acidity, making it very easy to drink, so if you're unsure, we recommend the medium roast.
The three roasters who organized the medium roast event are

・FUJIYAMA COFFEE ROASTERS Fujiyama Hiroyasu
・Takuya Miura FUKUSUKE COFFEE ROASTERY
・Brewman Tokyo Hikaru Ono

Hiroyasu aims for a medium roast that "combines acidity and sweetness," Miura , who doesn't usually serve anaerobic coffees in his shop, aims for a balanced, sweet cup, and Ono also aims for a roast that emphasizes balance.

What about a dark roast event?

Dark roasts have a caramelized sweetness and aroma that is unique to the level of roasting, and as it cools a subtle berry flavor emerges, making it a fun cup to enjoy as it changes temperature.
The dark roast event is being organized by four roasters.

・RED POISON COFFEE ROASTERS Tomomichi Morifuji
・LiLo Coffee Roasters Nakamura Keita
・THE COFFEESHOP Daito Hagiwara
・ABOUT US COFFEE Yasunari Sawanoi

Morifuji is known for its light roasts, but this time they responded to the request with a "slightly darker roast." Keita aims for a "colorful dark roast," while Hagiwara aims for a "sweetened dark roast."

Each level of roast has its own character, and even with the same level of roast, the flavor expression and body will vary depending on how the roaster finishes the coffee.

Just reading the comments at the roasting event, where each roaster writes about how they plan to finish their coffee, will give you an idea of the differences and make it interesting!

Be sure to check out the comments from the roasters and attend any roasting events that interest you!
