A tasting set of new brands from three different roasters now on sale at a great price!
CROWD ROASTER has a great reputation for producing high quality Kenyan coffee, and this year, a fruity new crop has arrived: "KKGW Kenya/Kangocho Factory/ SL28 , SL34, Batian/Washed"!
This brand was carefully selected by CROWD ROASTER 's green bean specialists from the few Kenya AA coffees available in Japan.
This time, we wanted to add it to the regular CROWD ROASTER lineup, but gave up due to the small quantity.
This is a limited-time offer and only available in limited quantities, so be sure not to miss out!
Kenya has just the right amount of texture, juicy acidity, and is simply "sweet"!!
The coffee is processed at the Kangocho Factory, owned by the Gikanda Agricultural Cooperative Society in Nyeri County, Central Province.
The parent organization, the Gikanda Producers Association, owns three factories: Kangocho, Gichasaini, and Ndaroini. The association was established in 1996. The number of members of the Gikanda Association is over 3,000. A little over one third of them belong to the Kangocho Factory.
It is a sustainable cooperative that is RA and FLO certified.
Processing involves 12 hours of dry fermentation, followed by gravity sorting while washing in a water channel. Drying is done in the sun for 14 days on African beds. Lot number 16GF0002 means that it was the second batch to be finished at Gikanda Farmers Mill in the 16th week since October.
The grade of this coffee (green beans) is AA, the highest grade in Kenya, with a screen size of 17-18 (approximately 7mm) or above, allowing you to experience the outstanding acidity, sweetness, and clarity that is unique to the highest quality Kenyan coffee.
Thanks to the careful work of the producers and Kangocho Factory, the result is a coffee with a strong sweetness, fruity flavor, and a bright, piercing acidity that can be felt regardless of the roast level.
A set that allows you to enjoy comparing coffees of different roast degrees from three popular roasters!
To celebrate the launch of the new brand "KKGW Kenya/Kangocho Factory/ SL28 , SL34, Batian/Washed," we have prepared the "African Cruise Kenya Edition 2," a tasting set by three roasters.
CROWD ROASTER management team quickly tried a cup of Kenya coffee that had just arrived, and what stood out most about this Kenya coffee was its bright acidity!
It's a bright Kenya with a strong acid structure and a juicy taste. It has a plum and orange flavor and a clear aftertaste. This Kenya coffee is full of typical acidic characteristics of the variety, and you'll want to drink more and more cups.
This time, we had three skilled roasters roast this brand, so that you can experience the charm of this brand. The beans are roasted in three levels: light, medium, and dark, so you can enjoy the difference in roasting.
Light roast: Tomomichi Morifuji (RED POISON)
Morifuji doesn't carry Kenyan coffee at his shop, but he enjoys roasting Kenyan coffee from CROWD ROASTER every year, so we ordered it again this year.
Comment from Morifuji :
The flavor characteristics of Kenya's Nyeri Kangocho are cherry, berry, floral, and brown sugar, with a gorgeous fruity and sweet taste that will have you drinking the cup in no time.

Medium roast: Tanaka Yoshiya ( SPARK COFFEE ROASTERS )
Yoshiya , who participated in the Japan Barista Championship the other day. Good job. While roasting, Yoshiya is also a cutting-edge barista at the highest level in Japan.
I was excited to see how Kenya would turn out this time, so I made the request.
Comment from Yoshiya :
This time, the order was for a medium roast, so we roasted it a little darker than the usual Spark Kenya.
It has a central sweetness reminiscent of brown sugar, with a juicy acidity reminiscent of Minneola orange.
Combined with a texture that is just the right amount of weight, the impression is that of a very sweet Kenyan snack.

Dark roast: Manabu Narita ( Marley )
Narita has recently been gaining prominence when it comes to dark roasting at CROWD ROASTER . We had him roast the coffee to the very limit without losing the unique character of the brand. Even if you are not a fan of dark roasting, this may open up a new door for you.
Comment from Narita :
The Kenya coffee this time was a new crop, so it had a good moisture content and the green beans themselves had a very strong impression.
It is difficult to bring out the flavor of a dark roast in a washed coffee, but this coffee has a strong dark roast coffee flavor with hints of caramel and dark chocolate!
We have prepared this set after careful consideration of various compatibility factors, such as brand, roaster, and degree of roasting.
Enjoy the difference in the taste of Kenyan coffee depending on the roaster and roasting level!
The product name, African Cruise, was chosen with the hopes of creating the brand that CROWD ROASTER will seek out in the future.
New crops will be arriving in the future. Don't miss out on the new CROWD ROASTER lineup.
