TAKAMURA COFFEE ROASTERS in Osaka stocks many COE (Cup of Excellence) award-winning brands every year.
We always carry several COE brands and around 20 types of single origins.
Takamura Coffee roaster Yuya Iwasaki is the roaster of the most COE brands in Japan, so we interviewed him on CROWD ROASTER Radio, under the title "The man who burned down the COE farm."

Why does Takamura Coffee focus on COE brands?
And why did Iwasaki become a coffee roaster? We asked him about that.
Iwasaki discovered a small roasting machine, Discover, in a warehouse and started roasting every day after the shop closed. At first, he didn't know how to roast, but he finished in about five minutes, and people said it tasted like Chinese food.
From there, he started bringing roasted beans to various people and gradually Manabu roasting.
Regarding COE, Takamura Coffee apparently participates in the auction itself, roasting and cupping 30 COE award winning samples from each country, and then deciding which lot to bid on. Including the samples, they apparently roast an enormous number of coffees.
