Kihara Musashi , the owner and roaster of WOODBERRY COFFEE , has opened a specialty coffee shop in his hometown of Yoga, Tokyo. Since then, he has continued to increase the number of stores, and continues to think about what kind of store is necessary for the local community. We have been searching for a coffee shop that will contribute to the local community.
At CROWD ROASTER , we spoke to Mr. Musashi about a variety of topics, including his vision for a coffee shop, his efforts towards the region and production areas, and even Musashi hobbies.
What WOODBERRY COFFEE aims for
Musashi 's `` WOODBERRY COFFEE '' currently operates six stores, five in Tokyo and one in Kamakura.
Aiming to be ``a store that the local community cannot afford to lose,'' each store has its own unique character, and we are also actively implementing sustainability initiatives such as reducing plastic use.
The brand purpose is "Creating a better world through coffee."
In order to achieve this goal, we have started a direct trade business in which we directly visit producing countries (Guatemala and El Salvador) to purchase coffee, and we are also conducting activities that allow us to do business more closely and sustainably with producers.
Mr. Musashi continues to work on these various initiatives without stopping.
