PCRC2024, a roasting competition specializing in Panamanian coffee, has been decided to be held

It has been decided that the Panama Coffee Roasting Competition 2024 (PCRC 2024), a roasting competition using only Panamanian coffee beans, will be held.
CROWD ROASTER also cooperated in PCRC 2023, the first tournament held last year.
The award ceremony for the tournament was held at the SCAJ CROWD ROASTER booth, and the Panamanian ambassador was also invited, creating a great atmosphere.

The PCRC is a roasting competition that focuses on Panamanian coffee, which boasts some of the highest quality in the world, and aims to maximize its quality and flavor characteristics, as well as convey the appeal of Panamanian coffee along with its story.
PCRC 2024 will be held as a commemorative event for the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Panama, and will be sponsored by the Embassy of Panama in Japan.

Following the success of the previous event, the scale of this event will be expanded, with the number of participants doubled.
The head judge, who will be the key to judging the competition, will be Yuki Sato of WOODBERRY COFFEE , who served as head judge for the Japan Coffee Roasting Championship 2023.

This year, the competition will be split into two categories. The Geisha category will feature the world's finest Panama Geisha , brimming with the charm of Panama, and the Traditional category will feature varieties other than Geisha , such as Typica , Caturra, and Pacamara . Each category will feature winners advancing to the finals.

Registration will begin in June, with preliminary and final rounds scheduled to run from July to October. Details will be announced in the future.
In addition, a "Champion Seminar" will be held by Shinya Kobayashi (Wakoya), the champion who won two categories at PCRC 2023.
The seminar will also allow for early entry into PCRC 2024.

What's more, last year's champion roaster, Shinya Kobayashi has also been confirmed to participate in CROWD ROASTER !
A special Panama coffee tasting set, unique to the Panama coffee roasting champion, will also be available. Please look forward to it!
