CROWD ROASTER brand introduction (6) El Salvador Espana Farm

Some people might want to participate in a roasting event, but hesitate because they don't know the characteristics of different coffee varieties.

This project is for those people, and will provide a detailed introduction to the coffee varieties that CROWD ROASTER carries.
This time, we're introducing "[ BPC ] El Salvador España Farm Bourbon / Percussion / Castillo Anaerobic Natural".

This coffee, from one of El Salvador's most renowned vineyards, is only available in Japan at CROWD ROASTER .

Espana Farm is one of El Salvador's most renowned coffee farms. CROWD ROASTER is exclusively importing and introducing coffee from this farm, which has never been available in Japan before.

The Apaneca district of Ahuachapán Department, where the España farm is located, is one of El Salvador's leading coffee-producing regions, bordering Guatemala. The soil and climate are suitable for coffee cultivation, but the area is also known for its strong winds. For this reason, not only shade trees but also windbreaks are planted to protect the coffee trees from strong winds.
This farm produces high-quality coffee beans through extremely meticulous work, while also actively engaging in activities to protect the local environment.

This España farm was founded in 1860 by Rodrigo Herrera (grandfather of the current owner, Nora Lemas de Díaz Nuira). It boasts a history of 160 years, making it one of the oldest farms in El Salvador.

The farm covers 35 hectares, with 28 hectares primarily planted with Bourbon grapes and Percus grapes in areas affected by strong winds.

Located at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,475 meters, the area boasts a microclimate that gives coffee its unique characteristics, and its semi-hilly terrain and fertile soil are ideal for coffee cultivation. Meticulous attention is paid to cultivation methods, harvesting, and post-harvest management.

An impressive BPC that can be enjoyed like a red wine.

When you think of coffee from El Salvador, you might get the impression that it's easy to drink.
However, this coffee is quite unique.

One of the secrets lies in the selection method (process) that uses anaerobic fermentation, known as anaerobic natural.
Anaerobic coffee, which has become popular in recent years, can sometimes have a strong fermented smell, resembling kimchi, if not handled carefully. This coffee, however, is completely free of that problem. Through thorough research and a meticulous processing method, the unique flavor of this process is clearly discernible.

This coffee offers flavors reminiscent of berries and black cherries, with a lingering finish that includes the acidity and sweetness of apricot, making it a coffee you can enjoy like a wine.

Basic flavors: Berry, American cherry, red wine, apricot

This coffee offers a unique flavor profile unlike any other coffee you've ever tasted.
Please enjoy this one-of-a-kind flavor.
